This is a friendly group of people who are learning to play in consort, and an ability to read music reasonably well and some knowledge of recorders is required, along with a commitment to practice regularly. You will need to provide your own recorder and music stand, and be prepared to buy sheet music sometimes. There is no other charge.

May 12th                    
Lang Lang: Documentary: “The Art of Being a Virtuoso”.  A snapshot of his extremely busy life style playing a multitude of concerts around the world.

June 9th                       
“Genius of the Cello”.  Documentary exploring the unique talents of the great Russian cellist Mstislav Rostropovitch.  With contributions from his widow, daughters, conductors and former pupils.  This is an exciting introduction to this maestro’s talents.

July 14th                      
Music Room.  Howard Goodall interviews Emma Johnson, probably the finest British clarinettist.  We find out how she chose the clarinet and what motivates her, and we can listen to her playing.

August 11th                 
Leonard Bernstein’s “New York”.  Top Broadway stars offer new interpretations of his music from “On the Town”, West Side Story” and Wonderful Town.  Another chance to sit back and enjoy this great composer’s music.
